Who are we?
The Alliance Française of
Saint-Malo is a non-profit organization, founded in accordance with the
statutes and aims of the Alliance Française in Paris, which was itself founded
in 1883; its purpose is to bring together those who want to contribute to the
influence and spread of the French culture and language.
Aiming at offering courses
in French as a foreign language, starting in 2005, the Alliance Française of
Saint-Malo is run by a twelve-member Board of Directors, who are experts in
international relations, in university teaching or in French as a foreign
language (FLE).
The Alliance Française of
Saint-Malo is located in the international meeting centre “Ethic Etapes Patrick
Varangot”, offering high quality accommodation and catering.
The city of Saint-Malo
itself is an exceptional location, enjoyed by tourists all year long; they will
now be able to come and learn French as well as discover the cultural
specialities of Brittany, under the most favourable conditions.
The activities of the
organization are the following:
- providing French language
classes (French as a foreign language), which take place at the “Ethic Etapes
Patrick Varangot” Centre, in a comfortable and quiet atmosphere, in the centre
of town and close to the beaches;
- organising events and
meetings, in collaboration with the actors of Saint-Malo’s cultural life, in
order to promote cultural diversity, particularly in a French-speaking context.
